The Postcard Post Old Home Week welcomes back illustrator Nina Victor Crittenden who has been up to a thing or two since her first visit to The Postcard Post. I’ll let Nina fill you in…
Greetings, Sub It Cub! Thank you so much for inviting me back for Old Home Week!
I can’t wait for you all to meet CHICKEN LILY in March! Lori Mortensen’s story is full to the brim with amazing poultry puns (a perfect match for my sense of humor) so I feel super fortunate that I was chosen to illustrate her story.

Lily finds a way to face her fears with the help of her friends, Pigsley and Baabette, and her teacher, Mrs. Lop. I had a fun time thinking up more classmates for Lily and couldn’t resist adding my own dog, Gordy, and Lori’s cat, Max, to Mrs. Lop’s class.

I have some board book dummies out on submission right now and am getting really close to having a new picture book dummy ready to submit. Writing is a lot harder for me than illustrating, but I am nothing if not determined. Hooray for determination! Go, Sub It Club, GO!

It has been a while since I have made a new postcard– thank you for the reminder! Wishing you all much luck and many fruitful ideas in 2016!
xo Nina
