Sub It Club is 3!

1 cake bgSub It Club has been going strong for 3 whole years now! We’ve grown from an idea to a huge group of writers and illustrators helping each other with questions and encouragement. We love being a part of the lives of so many talented people working toward their goals of publication. We are so happy to be connected with each and every one of our Sub It Clubbers whether you are part of the support group, are blog followers, Twitter peeps, or join us elsewhere (or everywhere).

I must give a huge THANK YOU to each one of our Partners in Submission! This past year Dana featured illustrators by sharing a beautiful information-filled Postcard Post each month.  Although she has been on sabbatical the past few months Lisha shared a ton of information that was entertaining as well as informative. She did an in depth series on critiquing for our Sub It Club Critique Partner Matchup Group that is a great reference. Amy Dixon joined us to share monthly inspiration inspired by picture books. Her posts have been a wonderful, uplifting addition to the blog.

Recently I’ve been going through and organizing posts on the blog here. You may have noticed a new, easier to navigate Categories section in the sidebar. I’ve also added a Have a Question? page to give another, easy way to contact us here at Sub It Club. I have to tell you all, there have been some features I have been wanting to add to Sub It Club since the beginning. There’s just not enough time in the day! So, to start out our 3 year anniversary I’m asking you, dear Sub It Clubber, if you might have the time to contribute as a Partner in Submission. It’s a busy month but I am going to come up with a questionnaire and start a search for new partners in earnest. If you know submissions or research and might want to take on a feature for Sub It Club, email me at SubitClub(at)gmail.com!

Of course, we’re also going to be2 cake part doing some celebrating here! For our 3 year anniversary we’re excited to be hosting pitch days with agents Shira Hoffman of McIntosh & Otis and Jennifer Johnson-Blalock of Liza Dawson Associates. There will be some giveaway days with submission passes, one with Sterling Children’s Editor Christina Pulles and another with agent Mary Cummings of Betsy Amster Literary. I think we just may have a few other things up our sleeves as well. Check our February Contest Roundup for dates and keep an eye the Club. Here’s to another great year!
