Win a Proofread From Author Dori Kleber!

Kidlit Week, part of our month long 2 year celebration, is still going strong here at Sub It Club. Have you entered yet? We sure hope so! We have prize giveaway opportunities for all of you, no matter the genre you work in. For picture book writers we have critique opportunities from kidlit authors Amy Dixon and Katy S. Duffield. We have feedback opportunities for illustrators from Mark Fearing and Sarah Frances Hardy. All members are invited to enter to win an autographed picture book from author Corey Rosen Schwartz. Today we also have a great prize giveaway for writers of all genres!

Dori Kleber (457x640)Dori Kleber is popping into Sub It Club to help us celebrate! Dori has been a writing professional for over 20 years. Her writing has appeared in a number of newspapers and magazines in the Southeast. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, where she graduated first in class at the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Yup, you read that right. First in class. Wowzers.

Dori also writes for children and recently sold her first book to Candlewick Press! Another amazing feat if you ask me. Her picture book titled MORE-IGAMI is scheduled to be released in February of 2016.

Dori is offering the type of prize we can all use before submitting our work; a proofread. Proofreading is something Dori does professionally. What a great opportunity for someone to get their work polished up before submission!

Dori will use her professional eye to review the work for grammar, punctuation, and clarity, focusing on improving the mechanics and effectiveness of the prose, cleaning it up and tightening it.

Like I said, Dori’s giveaway is for writers in all genres. Dori will give one winner a proofread of:

  • one picture book manuscript or one chapter of a novel
  • She will also proofread of the query letter for the same manuscript

If you have a chapter you would like proofread but don’t have the query letter written yet, that’s okay. The proofread of the query letter is a nice extra that Dori threw in. So, come on and enter! Just tell us that you want to be entered in the comments of this post.

For extra entries:

SubItClub Badge (175x88)

To learn more about Dori go check out her website www.dorikleber.com and follow her on Twitter @DoriKleber. You can also find Dori on LinkedIn.

I’ll do a random number generation and pick a winner on Tuesday, February 24th. Entries are open until then. Good luck!

  9. When we see someone get a book contract, we don’t always realize how many years and how much effort that writer has put into their journey. Thank you so much, Dori, for sharing your success with us by offering this generous prize. I would love to have you look over one of my pb ms. 🙂

  10. Dori, I’d love to have you read a story I wrote for Toastmasters! I’d like to know if it would also make a good children’s picture-book. It’s called Picker Picknose and is about a rude gnome who learns the value of asking “please”.

    PLEASE consider my submission.
